Cedarwood, Patchouli, Jasmine
The ancient incense route that connected the south of the Arabian Peninsula with the Mediterranean and Mesopotamia ran both overland and by sea. After a long journey, cargo loads of frankincense, myrrh and spices carried along this route finally reached Europe, where they were valued at their weight in gold, and it was precisely their understanding of this cargo's exceptional value that spurred merchants to endure this long and arduous trip. To conjure up the sensation of merging with the sea, as these ancient merchants did, whose surface mesmerises and beckons with the allure of new discoveries, but which at any moment might also swell into stormy waves, Erez created Cedarwood, Patchouli, Jasmine – a deep, woody fragrance with a light floral nuance. Earthy notes of patchouli bestow depth, cedar adds dry coolness and jasmine contributes sweetness, lending refinement. This composition recalls the "song of the sea", which entices travellers with the promise of incredible discoveries over the azure horizon.
